BTM answered: Bill Thomas NASCAR 427 Big Block Chevrolet Engine.This #001 Alloy 427 Super Cheetah was on its way to be built for FIA and run Le Mans in Europe.Before Chevrolet pulled the plug on everything Cheetah related.Bill Thomas was reworking the brand new Chevrolet 396 in secret with increasing the bore size to 4.251 To take advantage of the extra cubic inches within the legal limit for NASCAR and FIA 1965 rules.

BTM answered: Bill Thomas did do work on Corvair Monza GT Engine & Weber carbs.I have found original GM media from 1963 auto show with Silver Corvair Monza GT Pictures & studio pictures of same Silver Monza.I believe today that Bill Thomas indeed loved the style of that Monza GT he had it designed right into his new Super Cheetah for 1965.We are going to add a link to these 2 built EXP monza Corvairs.you will get a chance to see amazing Styling of both cars.

BTM answered: Yeakel list Super Cheetah as #011 in Bill Thomas production. This is 100% False Information to the public and again it shows how good of research department they have{none}. Super Cheetah is #001 brand new 1965 Cheetah Proto-Type model. They still list Super Cheetah As lost in fire, False also. The Super Cheetah is intact exactly as it was in 1964 when all work stopped on it. Don Edmunds Has already verified BTM owns the Super Cheetah he bought from the Bill Thomas Auction in 1970 and sold to memphis Tenn, resident in aug 1971.

BTM answered: Yeakels Cheetah does have California Id tag as BTC003, Its also very comical he list his own car as #006 on his site.They have no right to list any Bill Thomas Cheetahs in chronological order. His Chronological order of production should not be used for any Cheetah Research Or Historians Of The Late Great Bill Thomas.

BTM answered: This is a major problem for Yeakel and his Cheetah car.His FIA papers show BTC003 As production # from Bill Thomas Race Cars.If There Were more than 1 Ferrari with same production number there would be hell to pay for the Fictitious {Imaginary}car.It is ashame that yeakel cant review and moderate there own Unofficial site of public disinformation.

So BTM of Arizona is sole licensed user of all protected Bill Thomas materials. Bill Thomas Cheetah is Trade Marked as is Cheetah Always Win Logo,Also BTM Business Crest. This is going to open a new page in BTM Cheetah history.We are looking for new distributors for the 1965 S/C 427 Models.

BTM answered: Yes,Street or race car Cheetah, Even our rolling chassis packages can be ordered. 90 to 150 days depending on your order and of coarse longer if you order a Special Engine. Yes we here at BTM are getting our priorities in order, BTM member Robert Auxier went through over 2 1/2 Year divorce. Well i must say now divorce is all over with,. BTM is still intact looking at future Cheetah projects.Yes i have moved back home to Phoenix from a 2 1/2 year leave from the car world.

BTM answered: Absolutely None what so ever, No rights granted,No permission granted,No Bill Thomas license agreement.The pure annoyance by yeakel to try and contact Bill Thomas by phone was memorable. yeakel could not even finish his first question and Bill Thomas would know this voice from many attempts of so ridiculous questions and pushing Bill Into a corner about his car, Bill Thomas would just hang up the phone. Bill Thomas did not buy anything yeakel was trying to sell him on with yeakels version of history on his Cheetah.

BTM answered: At The Time Super Cheetah Was Being Worked On Dick Harrell Was A Regular In The Thomas Shop,This Was The Time Of Bill Thomas Preparing Very Famous Harrell Chevy II's Bad Bascom That Was Retribution And Then Retribution II That Dick Harrell Drag Raced, This Was Also The Time Of The Secret Mistery 427 Chevrolet Engine And The 427 Z-11 Engines Bill Had Done Close Work With R&D On.Dick Harrell Would Get A Special Bill Thomas Z-11 For Drag Racing In His Chevy II's.It Was Also Installed In The First Chevelle Body Style And Drag Raced.Well By The Time Super Cheetah Was Becoming More Than A Drawing On Bills Desk, Bill Was Working In Secret On The New 396 Cubic Inch Big Blocks With Chevrolet R&D.Bill Would Be First To Build A 427 Mill Test Engine From The New 396.Bill Also Built A Few Of These For 65 NASCAR Season. BTM answered: All Cheetah alloy bodies will be manufactured just south of Warsaw Poland.This is true for 1963-64 1st design Cheetah bodies and 1965 2nd design 427 S/C bodies.

The question was: How much longer is the super cheetah than the 1st cheetah?
BTM answered: 1963 1st Gen Bill Thomas Cheetah is 140" long,1965 427 S/C is 159" Total length. This makes super cheetah 19" longer. S/C is 44" in height off the ground, 2 Full inches taller than 63 1st Generation. Also S/C is 71" wide in Rear a full 3" wider than 63 1st Generation 68" wide rear section.Doors are 46" in height & 35" width on S/C,63 1st Generation doors are 42" height & 25" width.All changes to S/C are welcomed.

The question was: does the factory south of Warsaw Poland making the alumium bodies is the same factory making cobra bodies for Kirkham cobras?It is posible you would make 1st generation bodies in alum.?do you still have the alum. diff. fron the grandsport?
BTM answered: No it is not the same company, but I talked to them when I was in Poland.We need an order of 3 cars to make that happen. Yes I do have Alloy real grandsport rear end housing dated Sept 1962

The question was: If you have any interest in laser scanning the body or frame of the SUper Cheetah to help reverse engineer the car, please let me know. By laser scanning, the developement of the tooling could be greatly accelerated.
BTM answered: Body production tooling to produce Alloy bodies will be 3/8" Fiberglass reverse plug.I have a company out of LA that is going to scan the body when it is 100% completed.
